Remember That One Time...

In a room at a karaoke room. With 80's music playing in the next room. With the possiblilty of your boss walking in. With a boy who's only in town for the weekend.

In a bathroom at a bar. With a boy you've had a crush on forever. With you're friends waiting at the bar. With the sound of a football game in the background.

In a hotel hallway. With a girl you've only met a handful of times. With her pushing you up against the wall. With her telling you to do nothing, just stand there she says. With the voices of strangers passing by.

In a cabin. With your best friends friend. With the clock striking midnight. With the sound of coyotes in the hills. With him smelling like your ex boyfriend and fresh cut grass.

In your childhood bedroom. With your boyfriend. With pictures of a life that seems like forever ago hanging on your walls reminding you that it did in fact happen. With him whispering simple things like I love you and forever.

In an apartment complex pool. With some boy who thinks his god's gift to the women of the green earth. With your best friend at the other end trying to get over a boy that's sitting in front of her. With a hot summer breeze.

In his apartment. With another best friends 'friend'. With both of you knowing what this is and in the morning walking away from it like cold pizza. With nothing ever being said but wanting to scream about it constantly. With a video game on.

In a friends basement. With a boy you never hope to see ever again. With someone who you didn't know needed attention like a newborn. With the New Year's Ball just moments away from dropping.

On a floor. Or at least that's where you think you were. With someone you've known for years. With someone who you never thought would do this to you. Going somewhere you never thought you'd have to go.

In Jersey. With someone you thought was serious. With someone who only made the time when he was close. With the trains in the background and silently crying on your way home.

In a loft. With a guy who didn't know up from down. But he made you feel out of this world. He made the rest of everything seem small. With someone who knew how to talk to his way in and out of everything. He hurt the worst.

-I was talking with lots of people this weekend and these are some of my favorite stories. Just moments that I found really interesting and felt that they were significant to these kids. I surround myself with some cool kids. Let's keep making silly mistakes shall we?
